About Arpita

Arpita Sen is a Bharatanatyam performer and teacher, senior disciple of the illustrious Guru, Sangeet Natak Academy awardee, Guru Dr. Thankamani Kutty and Smt. Girija Balagopal, Kalamandalam Kolkata. She was put into training at the age of six by her parents, Late Dr. Swapan Kumer Sen and Smt. Tapati Sen. She performed her Arangetram in 2003, has been a recipient of the National Scholarship from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India and has performed in several prestigious dance festivals in India and Australia, San Francisco, Kuwait, Singapore etc., both as a member of the Kalamandalam Kolkata Performing Wing and as a solo performer. She received the Kindled Spirits Award by The Dance India organization on International Women’s Day in 2018. She has also been a dance teacher at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Air Force Station, Nashik.

She pursues Kuchipudi under the great Gurus Padmabhushan Drs. Raja Radha Reddy and Guru Kaushalya Reddy and is also a learner of Western Classical Violin. Academically, she is a Master’s Degree holder in English.

She is deeply indebted to her Gurus, her parents and her sibling, Miss Aranya Sen, for their unconditional guidance, unwavering contribution and relentless support.
